I started Yellow Hat Group in 2010
and am often asked about the name and the logo.

My Dad grew up in Steelton Pennsylvania near the Bethlehem Steel Mill.  He was a fine arts major at the University of Maryland and among his many works was this painting.  The painting became part of my personal art collection and was displayed prominently on the wall of my homes as I moved around the Air Force.  I was always drawn to the worker - putting all his might into the task at hand, his legs dug in, his sleeves rolled up, his arms flexed, focused clearly and intensely-protected by his yellow hat.

He represents the attitude and work ethic with which I was raised and carried throughout my twenty-one years of military service.  He represents the attitude and work ethic of the independent business owner who approaches his business with focus, clarity, and resolution.
